Division
1 Quarterfinals
In the D1 quarterfinals, Ursuline ran away from St. Andrews in the 1st game, and St. Johns took care of Bowie in the other.
Division
2 Quarterfinals
In Division 2 quarterfinals, St. Agnes rolled to a convincing win against Austin in the first game. The second game was much more exciting, as Kingwood gave Allen all it could handle, falling just short in an 8-7 game that went down to the wire.
Division
1 Semifinals
The D1 semifinals proved to be full of great lacrosse action. In D1,
Hockaday and St. Johns, finally got their long awaited game, and it was a doozy. The Daisies gave the Mavericks a run for the money, but the speed and experience of St. Johns in the end proved to be the difference. In the other semifinal, Cyfair raced to an 11-2 first half lead, but a pesky Ursuline closed to within 11-5 at halftime, and then made it interesting in the 2nd half before the talented Maidens put on a clinic and pulled away for a win to remain unbeaten against all Texas teams.
Division 2 Semifinals
St. Agnes started strong against St. Stephens, which made a run of their own to make things close, but in the end the experience of St. Agnes was just too much, and the Tigers advanced to the state title game for the 2nd time in their two year history.
In the other semifinal, Southlake came out on fire against north district rival Allen, storming out to an 8-0 lead before Allen finally answered. Southlake used speed and good teamwork to win 14-7
All Star Games
The last events
of the first day were the always-fun-filled all-star games. Congrats to all the All-Stars for great seasons and the honor of being selected.

St. Agnes Tigers and Southlake Dragons started things off by playing for the D2 championship. Both teams spent the first half trading goals back and forth in spurts, with St. Agnes going ahead only to see Southlake close. The second half started off the same, and the Tigers moved to a 14-8 lead only to see Southlake go on a three goal run of their own. After a timeout, St. Agnes poured it on, going on a 9 goal run to end the game 23-11 and win their first D2 championship! Senior Audra Lee was selected as the offensive MVP.
Then came the long awaited rematch between the top seeded and previously unbeaten Cyfair IronMaidens, and St. Johns. The Mavericks scored first, but the Maidens quickly answered back with a couple of their own. However the Mavericks were able to regroup and go on a run of their own, eventually leading 5-3 at the half.
In the second half, St. Johns went ahead 9-7, and things seemed dark for the Maidens after they picked up their third card, meaning they would play remainder of the game a player short. However, Emily Newstrom and Delaney Fisher put the team on their backs and tied things up 9-9 quickly. The two juggernaut teams then remained even, with SJS goalie Kelsey Duncombe-Smith coming up with several blocks, only to see Natalie Weitkunat answer in return for the Maidens, including a great block on the doorstep with under 2 minutes left to keep the game tied. Amanda Leavell put the Mavs up one on a nice drive, and then Maverick attack/middie Caroline Gibson scored what ended up being the gamewinner just seconds later. However, the Maidens were not done; they got the ensuing draw and scored with 24 secs left to keep the game close. The Mavs came up with the next draw and were able to withstand the tough Maiden defense and run out the clock. Cyfair's Weitkunat was selected as defensive MVP for her great play in goal, and Gibson of St. Johns was the offensive MVP. Congrats to both teams for a great season and an incredible game, and for representing the south district well!
