South District D1-D2 Split Process

To alleviate any confusion, here is how the South District set up playoffs starting with the 2005 season. All south district coaches are highly in favor of this; it works because, in the end, teams are put in playoffs based on how they do on field that season. Reason for doing it this way is that year in and year out, 5th place through 8th place teams are very close at the end, with one goal usually separating the teams. They wanted a chance to be able to play their way into D1 on a yearly basis. The newer, less developed programs also have the chance to play against all teams and give themselves something to aim for instead of only being able to play against D2 teams in regular season.
