St. Johns Mavericks

     The Mavericks are a dynasty rolling towards immortality. In 2005 and 2006 they ruled the roost not only in the TGHSLL but in SPC as well, and 2007 was no exception. Although they lost a close one in the SPC final to Dallas rival Hockaday, they did beat them in the regular season.
     The Mavericks staged a comeback for the ages, beating CyFair 10-9 in overtime in the THSLL championship after being down 9-5 with just a little over 4 minutes remaining.
      Opponents still have to contend with this juggernaut. While they lost four great senior starters, they will only reload this year, as their JV program last year was full of great varsity caliber players that have stepped up this year.
     Until someone else in Houston proves otherwise, its a one-team race; everyone else is playing for second place!
