     In 2011, the Mustangs grew as a team and started to jell at just the right time. First, they upset highly ranked Lamar in the area semifinal round of playoffs to advance to the D2 state tournament for the first time since 2006.
      This year, they look to return to the top of D2 and give Lamar a run for the money. The squad will be led on offense by Toni Cappaletti, while Madeline Phillips will anchor the midfield, with Olivia Cummins shoring up the defense.
