The Mustangs
made it to its first state championship in 2006, winning state D2 honors.
In 2007, they got a new head coach in Navy man Dave Sewell. The Mustangs
were able to reload with its athletic group of returning players as well
as strong girls from JV, and were able to make the return trip to the state
tournament as top seed in D2. Unfortunately, they came out on the short end of a 10-9 score in the championship game to Trinity of Dallas, but it was a great game and a great run by these girls, and prognosticators feel already they will make the jump to D1 status this year if they continue doing well.They got off on the right track, coming from behind to beat Episcopal in the first game! |
